Purpose : The purpose of the Project Assessment and Control Process is to determine the status of the project and ensure that the project performs according to plans and schedules, and within projected budgets, and that it satisfies technical objectives. This process includes redirecting the project activities, as appropriate, to correct identified deviations and variations from other project management or technical processes. Redirection may include replanning as appropriate.

List of outcomes : As a result of the successful implementation of the Project Assessment and Control Process:
a) progress of the project is monitored and reported;
b) interfaces between elements in the project, and with other project and organizational units, are monitored;
c) actions to correct deviations from the plan and to prevent recurrence of problems identified in the project are taken when project targets are not achieved; and
d) project objectives are achieved and recorded.
